How do you add or remove computer controlled planes from X-Plane 11? Well, it is really not difficult, however it took me a bit to find it... So I figured I would save you some time and show you where it is
For me, I love having a few planes flying around. It adds so much realism, when you have to watch for planes in the sky and have to wait for other planes to land before landing yourself. On the other hand, sometimes I like to have no planes at all. I do this in order to squeeze every last ounce of power out of my computer. It is a good idea if you are trying to push your graphics, especially with VR Flight.
Let's get started...
First, you would think you would find it in the settings, however you will actually find this setting when you load a flight. So click on New Flight.
Once you start your new flight, look for the AI Aircraft button. It is located above the planes and off to the right. See the screen shot below.
In this screen shot below you can see that you can remove the planes with the x, and you can add them with the Add Aircraft button at the bottom of the scene. You can also edit the planes and add whatever you want. You can have 5 little Cessna 172 planes or any other combination of planes that you like. Like I said above, sometimes it is worth removing all planes to get that last bit of performance.
I know this was a short article, but hopefully it helped you out. If you want to know more about setting up your X-Plane 11, check out my other blog post, What VR Settings do I use for X-Plane 11?
