In a recent video I have created, I show you one of the current and FREE scenery in Orsta, Norway, that you can pick up for X-Plane 11.
In the video, I take off from the runway, do a loop around the airport and make for a cross wind landing. As you can see from the video, I go over my settings, as well I show you my frame rates.
The frame rates are shown in the top left corner of the video. I get from 30 frames per second up to around 45 frames per second.
Most people will say that you can’t dip below 45 frames per second in VR, however I found that even when I was close to 30 frames per second, it wasn’t a bad experience. It still felt fairly smooth and didn’t cause me any discomfort. Now, would I say you always want to run it below 45… definitely not, but running at this speed for the extra scenery was just fine.
I love the detail in the airport and am very impressed. It is definitely one to try as you can get it for the best price out there… FREE. So there is no reason not to try it. Take a look at the video below to see it in action. If you are not interested in the settings, just skip the first 2 minutes of the video and head right into the flight.
Hope you enjoy.
