Guide to Flight Sim Radio Communication and Navigation

If you have ever wanted to become a real pilot or a well versed sim pilot, then one of the big hurdles that you need to overcome is the Radio Communication and Navigation. In this guide to flight sim radio communication and navigation I want to help you overcome those hurdles with me.

Am I an expert in radio flight communication? No. Am I an expert in Navigation? No. Then what makes me qualified to help you? Well, the fact is, I am not going directly teach you radio communication or navigation. I am going to help you out by laying out information that I find that has helped me. This information is going to be linked to websites, books, podcasts and much more. I will also be adding my own experiences to really give you a sense on how this information has helped me. I plan to eventually release a complete step by step guide on this subject where you can find the best free and paid resources to help you become your own expert in radio communication and navigation. At this time, I will be integrating this information into the X-Plane 11, however there may come a point in the near future where this information will be added to Microsoft’s new Flight Simulator

VR Flight with Navigation and Radio Communication

Now, you may wonder if this will relate to VR Flight, and the answer is yes, because as I learn more and more with radio communications and Navigation, I will spend my time setting up ways to deal with the radio communication hurdles that could come from having your face in a VR headset. This type of flying has its own unique problems, and I plan to include these in every turn of the journey.

How is the guide going to work?

How I will be doing the guide, is that I will be writing adding to this post on a weekly or bi-weekly basis. I will try to be consistent but please be patient as there may be times where I miss a week.

I will be continuing to make this post bigger and bigger in order to incorporate the information, as I would like to make this a large guide with every resource you will ever need.

How Do I follow This?

How can you be updated when I post new information? Well I suggest that first, if this sounds interesting to you, that you bookmark this information.

Secondly and probably more importantly, if you want to follow this journey, sign up for my email list below. This email list will only give you access to the radio and navigation journey so if you are already subscribed to the regular VR Flight World email, this is separate.  I hope to see you there.

Thanks for reading and keep this book marked for future updates.
