A short flight in X-Plane 11 while wearing the VR headset, Oculus Rift. It is an amazing experience. I am a student real world pilot, as well as a Flight sim enthusiast (please don’t judge the flying skills. This was just a quick video to show it working). I have been flying on flight sim for many years, but this is by far the most immersive and best flight experience I have had, besides the real thing. It definitely helps to bridge the gap between real flight and sim flight. I wanted to post this video to show how the GTX 1060 handles X-Plane 11 with VR. It is smooth. In fact it is much better in the headset, however I haven’t found a way to record with the headset fps. The headset runs at 90 fps, thanks to fly inside. Fly inside is the program I use to run VR in x-plane. The sim can run slower, however it boosts the headset fps to make it an enjoyable experience.
I am running a i5 7600k, a 1060 GTX (6GB version) and 16 GB ram. I have overclocked the CPU and GPU slightly. This has only gained very minor improvements. The game runs fine in VR without the overclock. Here is a post I completed where I go over the details of my system.
If your interested in using the
Oculus Rift , please check out my link. I want to be 100% transparent, and let you know that I do get an affiliate commission from the link. I plan to put out lots of great content in the future and would appreciate it a lot if you used my link.
Also, here is the Yoke and Rudder Pedals I use in case you were interested in that as well.
Thanks again for watching.
